30-Minute Beef and Broccoli Recipe Quick Shot (with Paleo and Gluten-Free Options)
I’m a busy mama with 5 kids and my own business. Sometimes I like to go all out and make a special meal, but most nights I need something quick and healthy that I can throw together in under an hour, like this 30-Minute Beef and Broccoli Recipe. It’s what I like to call a kitchen quick shot!
Like many recipes, this one is easily modified to fit your personal dietary needs. If you’re gluten-free, stick to gluten-free soy sauce for the seasoning. If you’re Paleo pr watching carbs, serve your 30-Minute Beef and Broccoli over cauliflower rice and use coconut aminos during the cooking process.
30-Minute Beef and Broccoli (Serves 4)
Ingredients
1-lb. flank steak, sliced into thin strips
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon grated and minced ginger
3-4 tablespoons avocado oil
⅓ cup shoyu or low sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos
4 cups broccoli florets
Preparation
Bring a large pot of water to a rapid boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook until crisp-tender, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and plunge immediately in the ice water. Set aside.
Slice meat and season with coarse black pepper. You can add salt if you want, but remember that the soy sauce is salty too.
Heat skillet medium-high heat, then add avocado oil to hot pan. Sear the steak on one side till nice crispy brown color. Don't crowd the steak and don't move it until you have a nice crust. Flip and cook until the other side is brown.
Turn down heat to a simmer. Add garlic, ginger, shoyu or soy sauce, and mix until combined, scraping up any tasty browned bit. Add broccoli and stir until meat is cooked all the way through and broccoli is heated in. Remove from the pan.
Serve as is or over rice if desired.
