Ginger and Orange Stimulating Milky Epsom Bath Salts
I love soaking in an Epsom salt bath after a hard workout. Most of the time, I keep it simple with a couple handfuls of Epsom salts and 1 to 2 drops of essential oil.
For those days when I really want to pamper myself, I blend up this bath salt mix from Organic Body Care Recipes by Stephanie Tourles. The recipe helps with muscle aches and has the added benefit of leaving my skin super soft.
Ginger and Orange Stimulating Milky Bath Salts (Makes 1 Treatment)
½ cup Epsom salt (unscented)
½ cup powdered milk
1 tbsp dried (or 2 tbsp fresh) finely chopped orange rind
1 tbsp powdered ginger
1 tbsp dried rosemary
5 drops ginger essential oil
5 drops orange essential oil
Mix the dry ingredients together, add the essential oils, and mix again. Your salts are ready! You can store them in an airtight container for up to six months.
To use, put one batch of the bath salts in the center of a 10- by 10-inch piece of muslin or cheesecloth and tie it up. Use the tie to hang the pouch from your faucet, so the running water runs through it.
Fill your bath with warm water and soak for 20 to 30 minutes. Before you dry off, massage your damp skin with body oil to keep the moisture in.
