Soreness or Pain?

If you're just beginning a new exercise routine, you are likely feeling a lot of soreness in your body. After my first boot camp, even though I'd been a runner for years, I could barely walk. I eventually grew to love the tightness in my muscles the day or two after a really strenuous workout.

It can be tough to tell the difference between soreness (good! It means you're working hard and building up your lean muscle mass) and pain (bad, can indicate or lead to injuries). I came across this chart from Move Forward that helps pinpoint which category your discomfort falls under.

Always listen to your body. Even as a beginner, it'll give you signs when to push through and when to stop. Better yet, contact Andrea and let her design a workout to suit your needs wherever your fitness level may be.
